These courses are aimed at adult learners – please see further information below! The venue is fully accessible for all ukulele courses, but the song writing sessions involve one flight of stairs..
All ukulele courses are limited to 15 people in person and unlimited numbers on-line. If you sign up for an in person place, you will also receive access to the Zoom session if you are unable to attend on the day for any reason. All course participants will also receive recordings of each session – so you can catch up in your own time and/or practice along to it as many times as you like in between sessions. Having two weeks in between sessions is perfect to get to grips with your practice and consolidate techniques and skills learned in class.
Playing the ukulele in a group setting is uplifting and joyful! Come and join the fun!
UKULELE BEGINNERS with Jen 1.30pm-2.30pm
Have you always fancied having a go at the ukulele? Maybe you got one for Christmas? Or have had one lying around and not got round to learning?
This 6 week course will get you playing fun songs together with clear and accessible teaching from Jen Pugh who has introduced many people to the joys of the ukulele over the years! No experience needed- this is designed for total beginners- and we can even lend you a ukulele if you don’t have one of your own.
The course will be relaxed, informal and fun. No need to read music – everything will be explained and all resources included in the course fee.

UKULELE BEGINNERS PLUS with Jen 10am-11am
Beginners Plus is the perfect course if:
a) you have had some time off playing and would like to refresh your skills and push them a little further
b) you know some chords (C, C7, Am, F, G, G7) but would like to build your confidence playing them
c) you like learning and developing your skills in a small group
In this six week course, we will build our confidence on the basics of playing the ukulele; from strumming techniques to playing common chords all the while learning some wonderful songs!
UKULELE IMPROVERS with Jen 11.30am-12.30pm
A six-week course to help you develop your confidence and skills on the ukulele, learning new songs, chords and techniques in a relaxed and informal small group environment.
This course is suitable for players who can play and change between the chords C, C7, F, G, G7, Am, Dm and Em. Together we will practice chord changes, introducing new chords, playing single note melodies and developing your strumming technique.
The course includes all song sheets and access to class recordings so you can watch and re-watch and play along for as many times as you’d like!
There are 15 in person places and unlimited places on Zoom.

SONG WRITING SATURDAY SESSIONS with Richard 10.30-12,30
Designed as a rolling programme of sessions, split into 6 week blocks, these sessions will be suitable for all levels of experience.
Perhaps you’ve always fancied writing a song but don’t quite know how?
Perhaps you’ve done some writing already but want to learn more or try out ideas with or collaborate with others?
Perhaps you’re a singer or instrumentalist with ideas but need others to work with?
All in the supportive and superbly resourced environment of our studios- with breakout spaces and lots of instrumental and recording resources should those prove relevant!
Led by Richard Sabey, an experienced multi-skilled musician, composer and producer.
This is an in person class only. Across the six classes, which are a two hours each, you will get individual feedback, suggestions and tips on your creations. The course is £60 and includes resources.
Please note this course is up one flight of stairs.
