The Woolpack Music & Arts Studios

The Woolpack Studios is a community music studio and rehearsal space in the centre of Otley, run by Richard Sabey and Jennifer Pugh. As well as hiring out our space for band rehearsals, we run community music workshops and courses for young people and adults, offer music production and instrumental tuition and organise and promote live music events here and in collaboration with other venues in Otley.

We facilitate music events and activities that bring people together and where all are welcome. Music has the ability to enrich everybody’s lives.

Roundhay Ukulele Group (Wednesday 8pm-9:30pm at Lidgett Park Methodist Church)

Woolpack Studios Choir (Thursday 8pm-9:30pm at Otley Social Club)

Our aim is to make music accessible, inclusive and fun for everyone. We plan our sessions so that there will be something for everyone to have a go at, whilst building confidence and developing new skills along the way. Since COVID-19, we have relocated to Otley Social Club in order to give everyone more space. Otley Social Club is a lovely venue with plenty of car parking and a licenced bar!

RECORDING AND REHEARSAL SPACE:

Looking for a space to rehearse without annoying the neighbours? We have two rooms fully equipped with PA, drum kit, bass and guitar amplifiers and keyboards. Rates are £15 per hour, with discounts available for block bookings that are paid for in advance. Please see RECORDING & REHEARSAL ROOMS for more info

In our studio we are able to record everyone from solo artists to big bands and everything in between! We are also able to produce songs you have written, adding live or electronic instruments. Recording rates are £30 per hour. Email richard@bighooha.co.uk for more details.

INSTRUMENTAL TUITION

Individual tuition on ukulele, guitar, bass, saxophone, clarinet and music production (GarageBand, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 11 and Cubase) are available for £30 per hour. Please email richard@bighooha.co.uk for more information.
